Xmass shopping pt 1

Last Friday I went to do some of the Xmass shopping. I'm not gonna lie - I truly enjoy any type of shopping LOL even crowded, tacky Xmass shopping.
I went to Boots because they have this whole ready gifts section.
In addition there's 3 for 2 thingy going on.
So I picked up 2things for my mum and I couldn't resist and got Harajuku perfume for myself!
Well, its not much of a perfume but the bottle is so cute.
I chose Love.
But there's 4 or 5 others.
They're £12 but I didn't really care as I used my Boots points
(its so worth it to save up the whole year and indulge myself during Xmass time).

If you looking for a perfume, I wouldn't recommend it.
The smell is great but it doesn't last as long as I wish it did and its only 10ml! But if you're into cute gadgets, don't miss out on this one!

And then I picked up this gorgeous jewellery stand
in New Look for £8.
Its pink and absolutely beautiful!

Hope you guys have good Christmas shopping experience
(and don't end up like me buying bunch of stuff for myself lol)

make yourself a cup of tea!

Today I wanted to make a quick note about green tea because people are often not aware how beneficial it really is!

What makes green tea so special?

So here are just a few medical conditions in which drinking green tea is reputed to be helpful:
  • cancer
  • rheumatoid arthritis
  • high cholesterol levels
  • cardiovascular disease
  • infections
  • impaired immune function
It is also rich in EGCG, powerful antioxidants which besides inhibiting the growth of cancer cells, it kills cancer cells without harming healthy tissue. It has also been effective in lowering LDL cholesterol levels, and inhibiting the abnormal formation of blood clots.

Other benefits?

New evidence is emerging that green tea can even help dieters. In November, 1999, the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition published the results of a study at the University of Geneva in Switzerland. Researchers found that men who were given a combination of caffeine and green tea extract burned more calories than those given only caffeine or a placebo.

Green tea can even help prevent tooth decay! Just as its bacteria-destroying abilities can help prevent food poisoning, it can also kill the bacteria that causes dental plaque. Meanwhile, skin preparations containing green tea - from deodorants to creams - are starting to appear on the market.

Harmful Effects?

To date, the only negative side effect reported from drinking green tea is insomnia due to the fact that it contains caffeine. However, green tea contains less caffeine than coffee: there are approximately thirty to sixty mg. of caffeine in six - eight ounces of tea, compared to over one-hundred mg. in eight ounces of coffee.

(based on http://chinesefood.about.com/library/weekly/aa011400a.htm)

It all sounds a bit scientific but, all in all, it is a hell of a healthy drink and I truly enjoy its taste!

There's lots of different flavours but I like the pure green tea the best.

I usually drink 5-6 cups a day.

Sometimes I add a slice of lemon or a spoon of honey to give it a little twist:)

So ladies, grab your cups and make yourselves a cup of green tea! LOL

styLe

Recently I started thinking about my favourite
style icons of all times and it's not easy..
especially now when entertainment industry is full of well-dressed people:)
if you know what I mean.

Lets get started!

Faye Dunaway

Such a fierce woman for her times and still looking gorgeous today.
I wish I can get old like her, with lots of dignity.

Jennifer Aniston

She's just so likable!
And I love her girl-next-door style. She doesn't look like she's trying too much.

Erykah Badu

I absolutely love her afro (I wish my hair could do that lol) and eclectic style!
And her music is amazing, it just flows and leaves you a positive vibe.

Beyonce Knowles

I admire her for bringing curves to the entertainment industry!
She's so beautiful and totally rocks this Balmain jacket.

winter special

One of my favourite products for a shower in the morning during autumn/winter time is 'King of Skin'. It's basically a body butter that is meant to be used in the shower leaving the skin feeling luxuriously moisturised and glowing.
I usually don't need to use any lotion after as my skin seems subtle and soft. It has all these nice ingredients: fresh bananas, oatmeal, avocados, essential oils, lavender, sandal wood and rose.

I really recommend it because it's a great product that has been overshadowed by famous 'Buffy' but is a time saver and brilliant for winter!

benefit's coralista vs nars' orgasm

Hello Ladies

At first, I need to apologise for the bad quality of pictures. I'm planning to get a better camera and until then I can only try to get the best out of the one I have.

I'd like to compare two already classic blushes:

Benefit's Coralista
£22.50

and
Nars' Orgasm £18.50.

As you know I got Orgasm not long ago. I heard so much about that product that I couldn't wait to try it myself. However, I purchased Coralista before all the raving started, just when it go realesed. It caught my eye.

Both of the colours are absolutely gorgeous.
BUT
I must say I prefer Coralista!
It's more peachy than pink and it gives my cheeeks really healthy glow whereas Orgasm seems more sparkly and glittery
(and glitter is really chunky).

Coralista has also very soft finish and goes well with my extremely pale skin.
The consistency is so silky, satin soft. I love how it goes on my skin. Plus the packaging is adorable.
I also find Orgasm more pinky which is fine, depending on what you are looking for.

The upper finger shows Coralista and lower Orgasm. LOL

I like to change blushes but I tend to come back to Coralista. It is pricey but it lasts forever!
And the colour is stunning.

Hope you find it helpful!

autumn again! :D

Hey Guys

The time is passing by so quickly. The autumn is fully here and I still enjoy colder but sunny autumn days walking to college but there is so much I going on at the time that I just realised that it is the middle of November! How scary is that?!

In the meantime I had a small Sephora and Body Shop haul.
I really regret that we dont have Sephora in UK:/
But Im lucky that my bf's parents live in Paris so I ordered stuff from Sephora's French webside!
I got myself Nars' Orgasm (I heard so much about it I had to try it),
3 brushes (foundation, brow and smudging brushes)
and a makeup pallette (I AM seriously AddiCTED to pallettes at the moment and this one is awesome for travelling).

And last Thuesday I got my parcel from Body Shop! I spent only £13 on:
Cocoa Butter Creamy Body Wash ( which is grat for shaving and I got it for free!),
Special Edition Roseflower eyeshadow in gorgeous Sunshine Gold,
Passion fruit Dry oil mist,
All that Glitters box (eyelash curler, eye shimmer in silver, mini Super Volume mascara, eyeliner in silver--> loove it, so sparkly)

AAh! And Igot these lovely hat and gloves from my bf's parents.
Isn't it adorable?!

friday shOpping

Hello Lovlies!

So I had a loooong day today (and yesterday I was working from 1 till 8.30). I was pleased to receive B from my philosophy assessment, I got paid, my bf went to visit his parents in Paris (he's coming back tomorro! yay!) so I decided it's time for a treat:)

First off, I went to Schuh and finally got to use my staff card and got myself Red Or Dead grey boots. They are gorgeous! Exactly what I needed! Flat but unique boots for winter.

And than I went to Superdrug. They have 3 for 2 deal on Maybelline, Revlon and Gosh. And buy 1 get 2nd one half price on L'oreal. So I did some shopping:

  • L'oréal True Match powder in Rose Vanilla
  • Balancing cleansing wipes
  • Gosh Duo Fibre Brush
  • Gosh Velvet Touch Lipstick in Darling (had to try it as everybody's raving about it:))
  • Gosh nail polish in Deep Purple
I saved £7.95 on the makeup! Who doesn't like deals like that!?:)

I also got:
  • Make up Sponges (I watched Wayne on You Tube, he is such an inspirational make up artist and he recommended using wet sponges to apply foundation and I decided to give it a go ---> http://www.youtube.com/user/gossmakeupartist)
  • Bodyform liners with a free Jemma Kidd lipgloss
  • tropical Batiste dry shampoo

I know I'm always looking for deals and bargains but since I'm such a beauty junkie and a student (and that
really doesn't go togheter!) I'm finding my own way to shop.

okey dokey

have a great weekend!
xoxo

05 November 2009

another random rambling

Hey Ladies!
Just to let you know about the new Body Shop treat- if you order stuff online for £10, you get a
free Cocoa Butter Creamy Body Wash (200ml)
and if you order stuff for £15, you get a free delivery!! I'm such a sucker for Body Shop:) So I ordered some goodies..

And the other thing I wanted to share is the fact that I am a total coffee addict at the moment! I cant leave home without my morning coffee, I have Starbucks at college (damn it!), when I study I need a huge mug of the black liquid
(it doesn't have to be anything fancy like super dooper mocca or triple caramel latte, just old good one with milk totally gets me satisfied:)) and at work I just can't help having another cup and also I'll have another one meeting girlfiends, ideally with a chocolate muffin:)
LOL

♥ vanilla

Hello ladies:)

I'm loving vanilla scent at the moment! I mean I always loved it but I found two products that create a divine smell. These are VANILLARY solid perfume from Lush (£6) and Vanilla Body Spray from Natural Collection from Boots (£1.99!) They're really great together and the smell isn't overpowering but I have to say that I adore sweet scents. And now I smell like a cupcake on daily basis:) How awesome is that?! Perfect combination for fall.

I made that pic in a rush, on the way to work:)

What are your favourites scents of the fall?
